Morgan is furious when her servants dare to bring her the news that her prisoner has escaped and that a woman servant and the child she was planning to sell are missing also.

Her screams are heard throughout the domain as she heads to the small square building several yards from her house. The three servants who work here and care for the children are frightened and shaking. Morgan slams the door open making the entire building shake.

Morgan tosses furniture and playthings out of her way, heedless to the sound of things breaking. “How did a crippled, mute servant manage to disappear with a small child, and not one of you heard a thing?” Morgan grabs the first girl standing next to her and shakes her hard, her head hitting the wall behind her. “Tell me. I cant imagine that you fools know nothing. You must have helped her, stupid wretches that you all are...” Morgan roughly pushes the second girl to the floor and focuses her attention on the third. “Tell me what you know or I am going to have you all punished, I dont have time for this crap.” Morgan screams “TELL ME!” in the girls face and yanking her hair.

The girl starts to cry, afraid she will be beaten or worse. “I dont know, I swear we didnt hear a thing. Maybe the guards...”

“Oh yes, maybe the guards. Who are as worthless as you little sluts. Someone had to have heard something, and if I have to kill you all to find out....” Morgan stomps out, leaving the girls crying and pleading and turns her attention to the guards.

“Well, did you idiots hear anything?”

The two guards shake their heads and look at their feet, afraid to meet her gaze.

“Why am I not surprised? My entire staff has gone deaf and dumb, besides being stupid as sheep...”

Morgan stomps to the garden shed, the guards behind her. The shed hides the entrance to her prison, a hidden tunnel winds its way close the foundations of her house. The door to the prison is open and Morgan enters slowly, taking in the scene. She holds hand over her mouth to keep from smelling the dank, rotten odors. She sees the chains she had ordered to be put on Inari, and the manacles, still closed and locked, laying on the ground.

What trickery is this? No one should be able to get out of those. Did she bribe the guards? But with what? She had nothing. What creature is she that she can fade away in the night?

Morgan walks quietly and slowly back to her house. The guards arent sure if the brooding silence is better or worse then her screaming.

Its all because Gareth left. If that damned blood sucker had minded his business none of this would be happening to me. I wonder.... if the vampire were out of the picture, would Gareth return? I seriously doubt he has grown the balls to defy me on his own. Hhmmm...
