Stoney weighs his options. Two wolves at the door, so to speak, and Alise barely on her feet. Biting back his pain, Stoney limps to the door. He turns, gathering Alise close. He kisses her deeply and takes her hand, slipping a silver claw on each finger.

"Mortuis loaned these to me. I am giving them to you. Stay with Kitty." The panther gives him an affronted look. He sighs. "What, you want to come?"

The look on Alise's face show determination. She looks down at her hands and a grim smiles twists her lips. The panther growls softly.

He tilts Alise' face up to his, searching her eyes. "You won't stay here, will you?" She shakes her head and the panther presses close.

"Alright ladies. We are going to hunt us some wolves."

The gnome grins and darts out the door, dancing down the path.

Stoney and Alise are led along the path to a hedged-in area just off the driveway, where several gnomes and salamanders are gathered. They flee into the bushes as the panther stalks in behind the others. There are several tense moments before the others allow the cat near.

The two wolves have been searching for a weak spot in the wards. So far no luck. Everytime they get close, there is a sizzle and snap of electricity along their fur. They have backed off for the moment with the death of the smallest wolf.

Stoney motions for Alise to stay hidden. He steps onto the drive and stands watching the wolves, hands clasped behind his back. He tilts his head, waiting. The smaller wolf edges forward.

"You're not Jean-Marc, neither of you are. He is a coward who sent someone else to do his dirty work. If you manage to kill me and take Alise, what are you going to do? Give her to a coward?

Stoney takes a step closer. The larger wolf moves up behind the first wolf. "You really think I am going to let you come inside? Who the hell do you think you are?" His words take on a ranting tone.

"You are no Loup-Garou. You are what? Beta wolves? Low class hounds... nothing better. You can't even fight like a man. You want to best me in wolf form, don't you? Well..... forget it, Even if you WERE dominant enough. You just picked the wrong fucking day to mess with me!" Stoney picks up a stout stick and steps close as if to hit him. The wards tremble, and Stoney acts as if nothing is wrong.

The smaller wolf launches himself at Stoney and the gargoyle stumbles back, as if startled.
