Rowan takes the compresses off Alises back, careful not to wake her. Alise had finally kept some soup down and drifted off when the cool compresses were put on.
Raina watches Alise sleep, “Is it normal for her to sleep so much? Seems like she's fine one minute and exhausted the next.”
Rowan nods and sits on the floor next to Raina, “Its normal. She has been through a lot physically and emotionally. I am surprised she let me get all the tests done. As soon as Stoney told her it was to make sure the baby was healthy, she cooperated. The blood test was a bit of a challenge, but she did fine all things considered.” Stoney had to sit behind her and wrap his arms around her to make sure she didnt move. Alise thought she was going to pass out when she saw the needle and then watched it go into her arm and the blood come out.
Raina laughs, “Well, I can relate, not crazy about needles either...”
At that moment a sylph opens the door, a faint scratching sound and Panther enters. She runs to Raina, rubbing her big head against her, trying to knock her down. Then she goes to Alise sniffing carefully, and manages to wedge herself in between the two women.
*“Pardusdýr , stöðva. Gera ekki vekja hana upp , þú elgur. Lay dúnn.” Panther makes herself comfortable and gives Raina a hurt look as if to say, “You were in my spot...”
Rowan turns to Stoney, “I have a couple of questions, forgive me if I sound ignorant. Are you absolutely sure of the date that she was made human again?”
Stoney nods, most of his attention focused on Allie, her hand seems to be bothering her, even in her sleep.
“All right. I just wondered, she seems a bit bigger than she should be at this point. I have never delivered a gargoyle child. Will she be pregnant for 9 months or is it shorter? That would account for the size... Or are multiples common in yours or her family?”
