I waited for Pandora as long as I could. I needed to get on the road before daylight came. I walked around the room and hugged everyone. I asked Patti if she could get me one of the tavern phones to take with me. While I waited on her return, I stood there holding Jeb. "Are you sure you don't want me to go?," he asked out of concern. "I will be fine dear. You just take care of yourself and I promise to check in daily." Patti returned and wished me well. I took Jeb's hand and we headed out the door. He opened the car door and kissed me passionately. "Be safe, love." I started the car and pulled off. I watched him disappear in my rear view mirrir and then started letting the tears flow.
