“I need to go. Thank you for everything, you have been so nice...” Laila doesnt want to go back to Rath but she has no choice. If she isnt there when she is suppose to be, he would come looking for her or worse.
Star hugs her, “You dont have to thank me. I like talking with you.”
“I should thank Ramji before I go.” Laila hesitates, not sure how to approach him.
“Do you want me to walk over there with you?" Star looks to where the riders are standing, joking about Gunnaar who is still out cold.
Laila shakes her head and Star watches as she walks to Ramji and speaks to him. He smiles and bows making Laila stammer and blush. When she returns Star cant help but tease. “He likes you...”
Laila laughs and swats at her, “Stop... he doesnt even know me..”
“But I bet he wants to..” and the girls laugh and are smiling as they say goodbye. Star asks when she will see her again.
“I go to the open market, the one on the edge of town, near the bakery, every Tuesday morning...” and Laila turns, pulling on her cloak and fading into the crowd.
