Laila sits down slowly on her cot, her knees weak, her mind going back to Ramji's kiss over and over. Her cat rubs around her legs, purring, trying to get Lailas attention.
As Laila undresses and hangs her skirt on the hooks, she notices a light on in the upstairs of Raths house.
Strange.... he has been sending the girls home early and seems to have visitors. I wonder who they are.... I know he sends me away so that I cant see who it is. It cant be his brother who would arrive with as much fanfare as a king....
She watched the house for a few minutes and settled herself in bed. Peeking between the boards of her wall she can see the red eyes of the hound, watching from the edge of the trees. Feeling safe she curls up with the cat and her thoughts turn to the following morning and seeing Ramji and Star again.
