"Time for some fun, love," I say, and with that I tug Star from her seat and onto the dance floor. A few minutes ago, I passed Patti a note which she, in turn, passed to the band and - right on cue - here comes The Association, or a remarkable simulation.

You ask me if there'll come a time
When I grow tired of you
Never my love
Never my love

You wonder if this heart of mine
Will lose its desire for you
Never my love
Never my love

What makes you think love will end
When you know that my whole life depends
On you (on you)

I'm not much of a dancer, but this is a nice slow song, so I can handle it. Hope they don't follow it up with something fast…. Star is warm in my arms as we sway together… not moving much, just feeling the rhythm of the music and of our heartbeats.

You say you fear I'll change my mind
And I won't require you
Never my love
Never my love

How can you think love will end
When I've asked you to spend your whole life
With me (with me, with me)

And right then, in the middle of a turn, the baby decides to kick.

Oh yeah, this kid has Viking blood! I feel like I've been sucker-punched by Guunnar (gods forbid!). I must look really comical because Star takes one look at my face and starts to laugh, and every time she looks up she laughs harder… until she has an uncontrollable case of the giggles and I have to lead her back to our table.
