K'thyri and Laila are connected to the apparatus I hastily constructed for this purpose, and the process is well underway. The fae called Wish fairly vibrates with power, and although I cannot be certain what she is doing, I can venture a guess.
Somehow, she is adjusting the various elements in the blood of the donors so as to replicate the biological composition of Star's own blood - and only then does it flow into the plastic collection bags. It is working, but the process is achingly slow, and it leaves me without much to do; so it is with a measure of surprise that I Feel the wards begin to reach for extra power.
I send a thread of my consciousness down the line to see what is causing this interesting phenomenon - and then a sylph enters with news from the gate.
I arch an eyebrow. This will require my personal attendance.
"Rowan." The redheaded witch turns at the sound of my voice. "I will need to leave for a while. Should you need aught, tell a sylph. If your request does not lie within their power, they will come and find me." I bend a stern eye on the sylphs present in the room. "Make it known that I may be found at the main gate, and do not lose time in coming to me."
I swirl my cape into place and move with some haste toward the gate.
The cause for the power drain becomes immediately apparent when I arrive.
"Ambassador," I bow. "I regret that I was not informed of your coming." I bring down the wards myself, and open the gate.
"This is no time to stand on ceremony, sorcerer. I am here to donate blood, and time is precious."
It is with difficulty that I arrest another bow. "If you will follow me, Ambassador...."
