When Rowan rushes into the surgery the first thing she sees is Mortuis and a sylph setting up instruments. Then she sees Star, curled on her side, Stoney bent over her, his clothes soaked with blood. He is brushing her hair away from her face, “Sshh little one. Rowan is here. Everything will be fine.”

Rowan takes a deep breath and walks to the table. She takes Stars hand and kisses it. Looking at Stoney she says “Can you see if Erik is here yet and send him in? And when Alise gets here, ask if she can help with the baby. I will need her in here too.”

Stoney nods and leaves the room.

Erik enters the surgery slowly, not sure what to expect. He sees Rowan leaning over Star on a surgical table. Rowan waves him over and he immediately wraps his arms around Star. She starts to cry again, “I'm sorry, I'm sorry..”

“No... shhh... its fine. I love you....”

Rowan pulls on a gown and starts to scrub. She gives some instructions to the sylph and then turns to Mortuis, “Thank you for this. Can you assist?”

At Mortuis' nod, Rowan goes to Erik and Star and explains what has to be done and done quickly. Usually, in the case of c-section Rowan has one of her helpers stay by the father so that he can be there during the birth. But there is no time to call anyone and Erik looks terrible. Rowan had never seen him so pale and sick with worry. Its always the big strong guys that end up hitting the floor in these situations.... She sees Raina peeking her head in the surgery and Rowan tells Erik, “Go with your sister. I will take care of Star and the baby...”

Erik hesitates just a moment and leans down to kiss Star before reluctantly going with Raina.
