Clicking 'send', Tori sits back and taps her fingers on the bartop. Her brow furrows and embers glow in the depths of her eyes. Her thoughts tumble through the messages she has collected, and those she has sent. Something in tonight's attack just didn't sit well.

One... there was only one.

Ob turns to look at her, a question touching her thoughts. She shakes her head at him, dropping a block between them. He gives her a look, but knows when Tori is running something through her mind, it is best to leave her alone.

Closing her laptop, Tori stores it on its accustomed shelf. She stares at it a few minutes, lost in thought. Ike nudges her and Tori spins on her heel. Rounding the bar, she grabs Tannr by the arm and nearly drags him toward the back booths. He grins at her and she deviates at the last minute, taking the stairs two at a time.

Tori says nothing, making sure the doors to the widow's walk are closed tight behind them. Stalking to the railing, she looks out over the back lot. Arms crossed over her chest, Tori leans against Tannr as he slips an arm around her waist.

"One. There was only one."

Tannr stops his move to fit his body against hers.

"One what?"

Tori raises a brow, glancing at him. "One ghoul. Why was there only one ghoul?"

Tannr leans backwards, hooking a chair and pulling it close to drop into it.  Tori braces herself against the railing, turning to look at her. "What are you thinking?"

"Okay..." Her eyes flare, embers flashing, then shifting back to a simmering heat. "The ghouls were hunting as a group. Our patrols have disrupted their hunts. So... where are they hunting?" She turns to look into the night sky. "And why... why only one? Was it to see our strength? Or... was this ghoul striking out on its own?"

Tannr stretches out his legs, steepling his fingertips. His index fingers tap in thought.  "All good points. What are your conclusions?"

Tori shakes her head. "That the proverbial shit is about to hit the fan."
