Chloe fusses at having her wings trapped under her jacket. Sparks seem to dance along the jewel-toned strands of her unruly curls. Her companion dragon darts around the room in agitation. Absinthe knows her charge is upset, but it is the alpha female who is causing the distress.
While Pandora talks to her daughter, urging her to cooperate, Ob slips into his daughter's temper hot mind.
Gitanilla, enough! Mamacita knows what is best. It is cold out here. Chloe's lower lip trembles, tears building in her big eyes. Fold your wings flat. Let them lay along your back, the jacket will not hurt then. Do it now young lady.
Their daughter complies, sniffling as the tears slip down her cheeks. Pandora tries to divert her attention, telling her that they are going to get Tante Alise, the twins, and Gracie before they go see Tante Star and Tio Erik. Absinthe tries to land on Pandora's shoulder as they head for the door. Pandora tells her to stay and the little dragon rears back in agitation.
Pandora promises it "Next time, you can not pass the wards set where we go. When Star goes home, you may come along. Alright?" As the door closes it zips around the room before settling on the curtain rod in a sulk.
Monty has the van running, Chloe's seat already strapped in and waiting. Ob touches his brother's mind. They are on their way.
Stoney laughs. *Mon Dieu! Qu'est-ce qu'un caractère. Elle est sans aucun doute votre enfant, mon frère!
Si... Tell me about it. Romani and Daemon... Ob sighs. Let Alise know?
She already does. She couldn't miss that. talking about our young... I'd like your thoughts about something...
Ob listens as Stoney fills him in on Tomas. Ob suggests they check him for peeling skin, redness along the bumps, even some greyness along the bumps when he sleeps. He has seen crossbreeds before. Some show no signs of being Gargoyle until puberty. Others.. they show signs when very young. At one time, they were thought to be changelings, or evil spirits. Many cultures had practiced infanticide in one way or another. Ob's own tribe kept watch for infants left for the "Gods to reclaim". Some stayed with the People. Others were found homes with less superstitious couples.
He feels the touch of horror from their wives. He assures them that those cases were centuries ago. Today, there are many Others watching for such children. The social service field has many hidden others in their employ. He concedes that there are some who are missed. He points out that Tori has many crossbreeds in her street kids. So far there are no gars in the mix, but there are so many that do not even know what they actually are.
Alise agrees to speak with Rowan if she is there. She lets them know she has noticed that Tomas seems to become heavier when he falls asleep in her arms. Her thoughts wander to Tomas, also noting that his skin seems less babysoft and slightly darker than when he is awake. Tara shows no signs.
Mon Dieu... How did we miss this? Stoney chuckles. He sends an image of Tara, cuddled against her brother as they nap. Alise chokes on the thought that the twins are purposely hiding something from their parents.
*My God! What a temper. She is definitely your child, my brother!
