Stepping out of the library, Tori nearly runs into Alise as she walks the halls with Gracie in her arms. Both women are wrapped in their own thoughts and don't notice the other until they nearly collide.
Their laughter echoes down the hall, a merry sound after the tension of the current crisis. Wish appears as if called, a cluster of leaves and flowers clutched to her breasts. She grins up at the taller women and dances down the hall, singing.
"One sip and the spell will spread. Another and she will smile. A third and the pain will let her be...."
She spins around, waving the bouquet. Tori laughs as the Wyldfae disappears around a corner. "Whatever she is up to, I trust her. Her energy is elemental and pure magic in nature. When she casts..." Tori sighs deeply. Tori turns, watching the opposite end of the hall. She breathes deep, smiling. Alise grins as she picks up a quick flash of sweat slick copper hair twined about Tori's slim fingers.
A chuckle escapes, followed by a quickly muffled laugh. Lavender eyes sparkling, Alise slips into the edge of Tori's thoughts. Mon Dieu!... Erik's brother is that talented?
Before Tori can answer another thought slips between them. *Peut-ĂȘtre que nous devrions acheter un hamac entre eux?
Alise giggles. "Your brother is awake. I think I need..." She laughs again as Tannr steps into view. Grinning, Alise wanders away, thoughts already busy with her husband's.
Tori stands on tiptoes and kisses Tannr deeply. "I have to go pick up the cradle. Traeger was going to finish it for tonight. I'll call you when I am leaving to come back. I'll check with Ramji and Guunnar about the ghouls. Also with Twillon... he has been trying to get a track on who helped the goblins find Star. He doesn't think the Drow would have used them."
Long dark copper hair slides over her shoulders as her viking lover kisses her back. "You will be careful, I know. Just watch your back. I want to feel your bare skin gliding under my palms when this is all done. Celebrate the lives saved..." He kisses her again, pulling her close to feel his reaction to the press of her body. "You better go before I forget where we are..."
Once outside, she lets the stone creep over her body, She flexes her wings, stretching them, and her serpentine form, to their fullest before blowing a kiss to Tannr. Launching skyward, she hovers just inside the wards until they recognize her personal pattern. Moments later she is soaring among the stars, wending her way back to the Tavern.
She is joined by the Nightflyer. He glides silently beside her. When she glances at him, he nods. "No one travels alone right now. We risk none when not necessary. How is the princess and her hero? Is the Hope safely arrived?"
Tori smiles. She has come to like the Faekind's bogeyman. "Star is getting better. Erik keeps vigil, and their son is a healthy little man."
The Nightflyer nods. "Praise be... The Goddess still touches Our worlds..."
*Perhaps we should buy them a hammock?
