Saturday, August 28. At precisely three a.m., Samantha Wallis was leaving the scene of a kegger at the Sigma Chi house. As usual at such events, Sam had smoked too much weed, drunk too much beer and succumbed to the advances of one senior and an unknown number of underclassmen. Now she half-walked, half-staggered down the dimly-lit street to the small off-campus apartment she shared with her roomie, Roxanne.
Her mind was awash in cheap booze and some fairly potent pot, so perhaps that is why she had no warning. Strong arms seized her and dragged her through a sickly hedge before her befogged brain could react. Cold fingers pushed her head to one side and then there was only pain - shrieking, mindless pain that throbbed through overloaded nerves with every agonized beat of her heart.
Fortunately for Samantha, her heart didn't last all that long.
