The morning passed in a bustle of activity as Pandora put her ideas for fall into action... soon there were cornstalks tied with orange ribbon around the room's pillars and the rafters were draped with beautiful fall garlands of leaves in shades from gold to orange and deep red. The Fae had done a wonderful job of working from above to get them just the way Pandora wanted them. She had been working with Patti on containers of flowers for around the room... the mums, gay in their own right now wore pretty branches of bittersweet and fall leaves thrust among their blooms.
Pandora sighed as she sank into a stool at the bar... "Do you think it will do Monty?... you know how much the Samhain season means to me, the fruition of all the years activities before the deep winters sleep." Monty slid a cup of coffee her way... it was strong and had the scent of orange and chocolate... one of her favorites..."You so know what I need right now."
Patti emerged and put a dish on the counter with warm pumpkin bread slices... "When did you find time for this?"... Pandora asked in astonishment. Patti smirked and said... "Wasn't much to it; whipped it up while I was fixing lunch... Miko and his brother made short work of getting me the pumpkin meat." From the rafters she heard the brothers and said... "Thank you, you are wonder workers too."
Pandora had barely finished her speech when she heard a squeal and the nanny appeared with Chloe... whose hands were reaching for the rafters, transfixed by all the riot of fall colors around her. Pandora laughed and said... "I think our efforts are a success, at least in the eyes of this little critic." She took Chloe and sat her on her lap; carefully setting her coffee beyond her reach and putting a bit of warm spicy pumpkin bread in her mouth...Chloe's look of delight made them all laugh.
Absynthe had taken to sitting in the rafters when Chloe was with her parents and she perched now among the brilliant leaves... warily watching the Fae brothers, for she knew how unpredictable they were....
