Star smiles when she realizes the shadow has gone. She scratches Troopers ears and he fades back into the shadows. Ky watches and laughs quietly, “Are there any creatures that you dont like?”

“I dont think so...” Star holds her pup close and leans into Erik. “Can we go upstairs now?”

Star turns to K'thyri, “Can I thank you, or will that make you play a tt...trick on me?”

Ky is startled for a second by the question. “What?... oh... thats kind of an old fashioned thing. Its not a trick exactly, more of a taking away whatever you have just been thanked for. The wyldfae dont practice that and no... I would never, ever do that to you. No tricks and no taking things away.”

“Then I thank you for protecting me.” Star takes Eriks hand and heads up the stairs leaving Ky smiling and wondering how anyone could be so innocent about some things.

Once in their room Star picks up the finished picture of Cassie. “I want to give this to Keon.”

As she turns back towards the door, Erik stops her, “Sweetheart, they are probably... umm... busy... maybe you should wait.”

“I will just leave it by the door.” Star walks quietly down the hall and stands in front of Keons door. She doesnt hear anything from inside. She props the canvas against the door frame and knocks loudly, three times and turns to go back to her room. As she is opening her door, Keons door opens and he peers out into the hall. When his head turns towards her Star smiles, points to the wrapped canvas and goes into her room.
