Erik isnt sure what made him wake up. Last he remembered he and Star were snuggling, happy and worn out from their love making. The night had turned cold and Star pulled up the extra blankets at the foot of the bed. Letting his eyes get used to the darkness he sees Star sitting in the window. Her knees drawn up and slim arms wrapped around her legs. Her long blonde hair blankets her body, exposing small slivers of skin when she moves. Lobo starts to wiggle and sniff, looking for Star. When he starts to whine Star looks away from the window and Erik props himself up on an elbow.
“Whats wrong? You look so serious Princess.” Erik holds out a hand, “Come back to bed. Its cold in here..”
Stars eyes meet his, the grey giving way to pink when she looks at her husband and then the wolf pup. She slowly stretches out her legs, unconscious of her nakedness and its effect on Erik.
She stands and turns to glance out the window. The moon is hidden behind heavy dark clouds and she shivers. “Something bad is going to happen...”
“Nothing is going to happen to us, I wont let it.”
“Not to us, but someone close to us. I can feel it. But I cant figure out who...”
Erik leans out of the bed and grabs Stars hand pulling her into his arms. “We can call Raina in the morning. Would that help?”
“Mmm..maybe...”
Star climbs back into bed and Erik pulls the covers over her and Lobo. He kisses the back of her shoulders and neck, telling her how much he loves her.
Long after Erik and Lobo have fallen asleep, Star remains awake, her thoughts jumbled and confused with worry, even though she is not sure exactly what she needs to be worried about....
