Gareth and Ky arrive at the cabin and take the paths to the back. Ky slips off first, then Gareth and he silently leads the horse into the stables. Ky scans the woods from the shadows of the stables. A Hellhound comes close and sniffs, then slinks away into the dark. Gareth joins her in a few short moments.

“Can you hear that?” Ky asks.

“No...”

“Exactly. Its too quiet. Even the night creatures are silent.” Ky moves silently, Gareth right behind her. When she is near the side of the house Ky stops and gives a low whistle and waits in the darkness. Circling around the building Tannr joins them. He gestures for them to follow him and he leads them to the back door. A sharp rap has Erik opening the door, then shutting and locking it behind the newcomers.

“Wheres Star?” Ky asks as she moves down the hall, the brace making her limp slightly.

“In the living room...” the men follow, cautiously looking at the windows as the pass by them.

Ky finds Star sitting by the fireplace, legs tucked under her and Mera in her lap. Mya is close by holding a long hat pin, watching every move made by the humans.

“Hey there... are you all right? This has got to be a little nerve wracking for you.” Ky sits with Star. “You dont have to be scared. Gareth came with me and Raina and Nick are on their way too.”

Star gives Ky a little smile and looks down at Mera, dozing from all the excitement and the warmth of the fire. “I'm not scared for me. Its the baby and Mera.... I dont understand why they would want to hurt them.”

Ky nods. “We can explain all this to you a little later. Gareth and I will sit down with you and Erik and whoever... You need to know what kinds of things you may have to deal with in the future. Right now we just need to keep the creepy blue fuckers away from here.”

Standing, Ky motions to Tannr with her head and he moves to join her at the front door. “Lets step out for a minute. Raina should be here in a minute and Nick might already be outside.”
