When the second fae has fallen, Star slowly starts to breathe normally again and Raina can feel her relax. Her hands fall to her sides, blood still oozing from her upper arms, her shirt sleeves red. Raina sees Erik turn, his eyes searching the treeline for Star.
Star turns and looks at Raina expectantly, and Raina smiles, “Yes, its over. Go to him, he is looking for you.”
Star bolts across the clearing and runs right into Eriks open arms. She cant speak, laughing and crying at the same time.
Erik cups her face and wipes away the tears, “Its done. Two of the three are dead and will never hurt another the way they did you. We'll find the human too. But at least this much is behind us.”
“Hhh..ome... I want to gg..go home. And you need Rowan... you are hurt.”
"This?" He laughs easily. "Little more than a scratch, love. Well worth it."
They turn to leave the clearing and Erik whistles for Phoenix, wanting to get Star away from the remnants of the fight.
