I turn to look at Star and give a sketchy kind of bow. "It would be my pleasure." Then, serious, I turn to look at Rowan again. "I'd like to ask a favor of you, if I may - not tonight or anything…" I know those looks, I think, and smile. "When you get the chance… I'm not going to walk Star home unarmed; I've heard too many things about Exton after having been here only a little while. My weapons are overlaid with a glamour that causes people's eyes to just quickly slide over them without registering what they see. The last mage to renew the glamour, in fact, referred to it as a 'slide-away' glamour.

I have no magic of my own… could I get you to look at my weapons when you get the chance, and to renew the glamour if it needs it? I'll gladly pay you for your time… much cheaper than posting bail." Rowan laughs and agrees, but her eyes are hot and wanting. I tell Star to wait for a bit, go upstaIrs again and buckle on my sword. Probably not necessary, but it can't hurt….

By the time I get back downstairs, Rowan and Traeger are nowhere to be seen, and Star is smiling knowingly. "My lady, " I intone mock-seriously, offering her my arm, "the royal pumpkin awaits." She giggles and takes my arm, and I walk her out the door.
