I turn a puzzled face to Nick. "What was that about her sister?"

Nick gives me a sober look. "She blames herself for Tara's death. She went to the spirit realm on something unrelated and Tara met her there. She told her that some things just happen and no one's to blame - but I don't think the lesson has taken yet."

Stoney interrupts. "Excuse me, mes ami. Erik, Alise has asked me to tell you to come up to the roof. Do you know the way?"

I nod once, and then I'm on my way.
