Almost everyone had arrived and the pits were full of meat. The mixed aromas had set everyones stomachs to growling. Stars kitchen was full of good food, laughing women, the love that surrounds good friends and family. But on her way to the cabin to check on the preparations, Star pauses, her whole body going quiet and still. Her gaze takes in the tree line, her eyes shifting from blue to gray to orange. Trooper stands and moves from his spot in the shade near the stables and sits near Star, rubbing his head against her side. Keon notices Stars stillness and Trooper moving. He silently approaches Star from behind. “What is it lass?”

“Someone is watching. From the woods. I can feel it....” Star says quietly, her eyes never leaving the darkness of the forest.

Wish and Pike go skipping past. “We'll find what worries the Star...” Star nods, almost absently, her brow creased. “I dont want Tori to worry...about them...”

“I know lass. But none can get close and t'would be foolish for any to try. The hounds will warn us and keep any intruder at bay. Her brothers would rip to shreds any that try to capture her...thats if anything is left after Tannr is finished with them...”

Keon grins and gently touches Stars shoulders urging her away from gazing at the shadows. “The meal will soon be ready.....”

Lowering her gaze Star heads to the cabin with Keon. Once on the porch she looks back but doesnt feel anything amiss. “They're gone, I think...”

Keon nods and enters but Star pauses, watching the kids playing, Tomas and Ryan moving dirt in their buckets, making forts for Batman and Godzilla. Ru riding on Gunnaars shoulders. The girls playing tag, colorful scarves billowing out behind them as they run. She watches as Erik walks towards the cabin, laughing at something Tannr is telling him. Star smiles, her world safe and complete with her husband near. Glancing around her yard, she takes in the assortment of people gathering. So many are accomplished fighters in their own right. Wish and Pike return from the woods and get pulled into the game the girls are playing. Star shakes her head and turns to follow Keon inside. If the Wyldfae were playing, there was nothing out there.
