Star works quickly, her pencil gliding over the paper. She adds a few details that she did not see the first time she saw the phoenix. She notices Erik glancing over his shoulder and wonders if he wants to see the drawing. Her thoughts wander as she works, the memory of Erik kissing her makes her smile and she loses her concentration.

Quietly putting the pencil down she turns and looks at Erik sitting with his back to her. The lantern light brings the outline of the muscles in his back and shoulders into sharp relief. His skin glows warmly in the light, beckoning her touch. Star leaves her stool and reaches for Eriks back. She holds her hand close to Phoenix's nose, letting him sniff so that he doesnt get upset with her nearness. Her hands move from the phoenix to Eriks shoulders, her hands soft and the touch so light, a breeze against his skin, making him shiver. Erik leans back slightly, wanting more of her touch, but not wanting to scare her.

Star leans in close and whispers, “He ww..wants to fly.” Then lowering her head she kisses the top of his shoulder, a firm breast pressing against Eriks upper arm. Erik moans quietly, quickly trying to choke it back, desire rising hard and fast. He isnt sure yet how Star would react.

Erik looks back over his shoulder. "Yes, it's been a long time for Phoenix. He needs to get some time in the sky. If you've come to a stopping point, or at least can pause for a minute, I can let him loose for a bit. He'll find me by morning."

She nods, and together they walk outside to a small clearing. Erik smiles. "Watch." He takes a few steps forward and Phoenix lifts off his shoulders, like a sunset with wings. Higher and higher flies the great bird, growing as he goes. As he clears the highest treetops, Phoenix suddenly bursts into flame, and the flaming bird is soon lost to sight.

Back in the small cabin, Star turns the kitchen lights off and moves the lantern closer to the worn couch. Erik sits as she grabs a threadbare blanket and curls up next to him. “Tt..tell me abbbout you..”
