Rowan looks over when Tori comes out from the tavern. She was still angry and wanted to kick something else. Tori tells her that Stoney is asking for her. He said Alise wasnt feeling well.

Rowan nods and moves to follow Tori back into the tavern. When she passes Treager she says “Never a dull moment around here...”

She slides into the booth next to Alise and asks whats going on.

Alise tells her how shes feeling then stops mid sentence. “Your eyes Rowan. Why have you been crying? Does it have anything to do with Star?”

Nodding, Rowan takes Alises hand in her own, “Please dont say anything. Star told Erik what happened to her and it was worse than I thought. I drugged her so she can sleep. Raina is watching her so Erik can go work off some steam.”

Alise nods, sending her thoughts to Stoney, It must be very, very bad Chiot. Rowan never cries, she is the strongest woman I have ever met. Suddenly Alise wraps her arms around her belly, “There it is again.....maybe its just the babies moving..”

Standing, Rowan gives Alises arm a tug, “Lets go upstairs and check this out, just to make sure.”

Stoney is immediately worried when he sees Rowan coming down the stairs by herself. Rowan takes his hand and gives him a reassuring squeeze. “Shes fine, dont worry. She was getting herself a little upset over Star and I talked her into resting for a bit. She said shes been having trouble sleeping... Anyway... I think you will need to get as much rest as you can in the next day or two. She is starting to dilate. That doesnt mean she is in active labor, just that she will be soon, so you need to be prepared. Could still be a couple of days.”

Smiling Stoney asks if there is anything they should or shouldnt be doing.

Rowan laughs, “Let her do what she feels like doing, even sex. Sometimes that helps speed things up. Call me right away if her water breaks. I will be around tomorrow afternoon to check on her.” Rowan notes the shy smile on his face, “Excited?” she asks.

Stoney nods, “Very, we have waited so long for this, to be a family... Thank you Rowan, we owe you so much..”

“No, you dont owe me a thing. Children are a gift from the Goddess. It is my privilege to help bring yours into the world. I will see you tomorrow.”

Stoney moves up the stairs and lets Ob know... Rowan says soon, a day or two....

When he enters their room he sees Alise curled up on her side, one arm around her belly. He lays next to her, his arm joining hers, his hand stroking the babies and singing to them. He opens his mind to her, Let me help Allie. I can take some of this for you..

Alise opens her mind too and snuggles in close to Stoney. Its not bad right now, just my back, but that pain is always there...

Stoney lets himself feel all that Alise does, and his eyes open wide in surprise. Your back always hurts this much? Chaton... always the ache? His hand glides over her belly, soothing the babies as his mind eases her back.

Alise nods, drifting into a doze under his attention.

Stoney kisses her temple, letting her feel his awe at her strength and closes his eyes, basking in the comfort of his small family to be.
