Lounging at the bar, Guunnar watches Raina disappear through the door with a pillow and blankets. Moments later Erik pushes his way through the crowd. Guunnar motions to Monty and two beers are handed over the heads of other patrons.
Following Erik isn't hard. He is a tempest. His anger could scorch the rafters. People move out of his way quickly and move back slowly. Guunnar follows in his wake. It isn't long before Erik steps out on to the Widow's Walk. Guunnar leans against the door frame as Erik stares out into the night. After a few moments he leans next to him and hands him a beer.
" Belgi , ekki eins og góður eins og Mjöður , en it'll do, "
He waits until Erik takes a sip, saying nothing. He watches the stars, thinking of home, his brothers, and the pain of heartache. He remembers being unable to help his sisters when they cried, but able to be ready to fight if they needed that. When the beers are empty, Erik toys with the bottle. Guunnar takes it carefully from his hand and moves to the door. He drops the bottles in the trash can and holds the door.
"Koma , við berja frá sér the hiti. Þá þinn armur vilja vera mektarmaður í orrusta fyrir þinn kona honor."
When Erik just looks at him, Guunnar grins. "Koma Little Man, ve see if you can knock me von my feet. Ven anger is tamed, is gut for fighting. Ven anger is wild, your voman lose a gut man, ja?"
He holds the door until Erik finally follows him. Stepping through the door to the roof, Guunnar stretches his arms wide. He reaches over his head and tugs his t-shirt off, tossing it aside. His chest and arms bear testament to the life he once led. There are faint scars across his body, barely covered by the coarse hair. He reaches back to secure his braids.
"Hand to hand, mein freund. I am ready ven you are."
*Belgian, not as good as Mead, but it'll do.
*Come, we fight off the heat. Then your arm will be worthy in battle for your woman's honor.
