“Is there anything you havent done?” Erik asks, laughing at his own embarrassment.

Raina stops to think, “Well, now that you make me think about it... hhmmm... maybe one or two things left. But seriously, Gunnaar is a good man. A good person to have at your back.”

Raina watches her brother, she can see the worry and hurt in his eyes when he looks at Star. “Do you think there is any chance of finding out who did this to her? How long ago was it?”

Erik smiles grimly, "I don't know how long ago it was, but yes, there's a chance. I'm going to make it happen if it takes another 700 years." He sits down and rests his head in his hands, “Bloody Hel, now I know why she sleeps on the couch. And theres a room in her cabin, the door nailed shut and a chest or something in front of it....” His voice cracks, “How could they Raina? How could anyone do this? She was innocent..."

Raina goes to her brother and wraps her arms around him intending to comfort him. As soon as she touches him every emotion Erik has surges through Raina. Realizing too late she leans back and looks her brother in the eye. “You love her this much? I can feel it so dont try and lie to me. I thought I loved strongly, but its nothing like this... You know I will help you in any way I can. If you want me to hunt with you or if you want me to stay with her, all you have to do is ask. Whatever you need, I'm here.”

"I know, sis. Trust me, when the time comes, you'll be the first to know." Erik sighs as he realizes the enormity of the task ahead. First he has to get Star to talk about it again. Just talking about it once traumatized her like this... how can he ask her to re-live it again? He gives Raina a crooked grin; he's never felt less like smiling. "Yeah, I love her that much… crazy, isn't it?"
