Conal? Keon doesn't know the name. Unfortunately, flame-like hair is not unusual among the Fae, nor are the fair-haired, so their descriptions would mean little to most.
"Nick, did you pick up either of their names? I have friends in both Courts who can do a little... investigating. Then again, I could make a visit to both Thrones and see what is stirring. That could cause problems though, since she has seen me here."
Keon taps a foot, thinking.
He turns his eyes to Jack, then Nick. "It was rash and reckless. But if he doesn't show the notes to her, it may give us leverage. I think a word to the demifae may help. Most High Fae forget the truth of them." He smiles. It is a knowing look. "I haven't. I'll need a gift though. Pandora, would you have any honey butter? That would put them in our favor."
He looks up at Stoney, then at Tori.
"These stillbirths... is there any connection between them. Is the midwife the same? Someone in attendance that is the same? and the circumstances with the toddlers... anything similar? I really hate to even think it, but it smacks of the acts of cradle robbing for which Fae were once hunted."
He is lost in thought for a few minutes, then turns his gaze on Rowan. "Has any child you birthed disappeared? I know you keep close tabs for the first year, at least."
His gaze touches Star's wide eyes. She looks down, away from his piercing gaze.
"Fear not, little one. Your energy is..." His gaze turns away. "Rest assured young one, I see you are innocent. None here doubt you, nor will they. But I warn you to be wary if either Fae approaches you. They will try to use your innocence."
He sighs, turning his eyes across the assembled people. "Some warnings to those who know little of the Fae. I have already told Rowan, but instead of having her share it later, I will now. We are consummate artists of misdirection. Lesser Fae do not lie, they cannot. but they will twist things so thoroughly, you will believe them if they tell you the sky is green and the rivers run purple. The High Fae CAN lie, but not about important things, and not to a direct question. They will find away around such answers. It is second nature. Unless we need to be direct."
He sits back in his chair. "Remember also, any bargain made with ANY Fae has loopholes for them to escape, and loops to bind the nonFae tighter." He winks, and affects a pixie's tone.
"Tricksies is what We are..."
