As Raina starts to leave her room she turns and goes back for her leather vest. The one that she likes to carry her tanto in. Putting it on she makes sure the blade is there. Nick watches with a raised eyebrow and she shrugs. “I cant explain it, dont even ask me to try. But I will feel better if I have it with me.”

Nick nods and they head down the stairs that lead into the tavern. The music has just ended and the crowd is milling about, dancers heading back to their tables and people headed to the bar for drinks. Monty looks up and smiles a greeting, busy filling orders.

Raina hesitates near the bottom of the stairway and looks out over the crowd. What is it? Pay attention, something is off, not right. Why is Pandora sitting alone when the band is on break? One of the fae on her shoulder... As Raina looks to the front of the bar she sees Ob, heading out the front door, alone. She looks back at Nick, he is still as death and she knows that he listening for any unusual comment or conversation. She nods her head in the direction of the front door, “Follow me in a couple of minutes.”

Heading out the front door Raina looks side to side. Ob is nowhere in sight and there are just the usual evening crowd on the streets. She picks up on some feelings of fear, anxiety, anticipation. She moves towards the alley, keeping close to the building.

Already feeling on edge, Raina slips silently around the corner of the building and into the alley. She sees Ob at the center of a ring of men - and at his back, a gunman takes careful aim.

There's no time to think, no time to yell a warning - only to act on instinct and training. Her tanto flies true, cutting the spinal cord at the base of the skull. The gunman drops like a sack of potatoes, his head hitting the asphalt, a widening pool of blood beneath it.

Raina calmly walked over, pulled her blade out of the dead man and wiped it off on his shirt. She kept silent, not wanting to distract Ob, though she desperately wanted to know why the hell this chickenshit would try to shoot Ob in the back.

She felt a comforting presence, and she knew Nick was watching her back so she leaned against the brick wall of the alley to wait and see what would happen...
