After she is positive that Star is sleeping, Rowan excuses herself and steps out the back door into the alley. She sits on the step and lets the tears and guilt overtake her. Her sobs are gut wrenching and her whole body is shaking when Traeger steps out from his shop to see what the noise is. Rowan has her head down on her knees and doesnt see him take a seat next to her. Traeger puts his arms around her and lets her cry.
After a few minutes she says, “How could I have been so stupid? I should have never let her go back to her place and live alone. No one should have to live with what has been done to her, and I let her live alone with it....Goddess, I am such a damn idiot sometimes....What was I thinking? I wasnt thinking...”
Rowan starts to pace angrily and stopping in front of a garbage can gives it a kick and sends it rolling down the alley, garbage spewing everywhere.
