Star is silent as Keon explains about his blood. She looks at Mera, nestled and happy in Keons arms. She is about to speak when there is a scratching at the door.
Keon looks up, “Company?”
Laughing, Star says, “No. It sounds like Wolf and Lobo.”
She goes to the door and opens it. The wolves' greeting is exuberant, tails wagging, each yipping and clamoring for Stars attention.
“Stop...stop....” Star pets them and kneels in front of them. Looking them each in the face the wolves quiet and glance at Mera.
“They mind ye well Lady Star..” Keon smiles, glancing up from Meras dark blue eyes.
“You dont have to call me 'Lady'. Just my name is fine. But Keon...” Star hesitates for a second or two. “What about Meras' blood? Can you ask Mer Cronigh about that? Mera will grow up playing with Chloe and Alise's children, plus all the animals. We should know if her blood will hurt any of them. She is only one fourth nymph, maybe her blood is diluted enough not to be harmful. Oh... and can you ask how much she needs to be in the water? I can take her swimming if she needs it...”
Keon nods, “I will ask and let you know.”
“Thank you. If you want to get her ready for bed I have her things laid out on our bed.”
Mya flits down from the mantle of the fireplace and lands on Meras tummy. “Mya help, show Keon...”
Star and Erik exchange a smile as Mya leads Keon into their bedroom....
