Ensconced on Grace's lap, Chloe plays with the rattle Jeb had given her. The woman is smiling at Chloe, listening as others talk. At a pause in the conversation she asks softly, "Is it true there is one who comes here who helps the souls bound here?"
The question stops everyone. Monty glances to where Jack sits, in his regular booth. Her eyes follow his gaze. "That young man? The one who plays a drunk so well?" There is laughter, and a general consensus. "He took part in the hunt in the Other Realm, killed the creature that gave Raina that terrible wound..." Her gaze stays steady on the man. Jack notices her gaze and raises his glass, saluting her. She smiles. "I have seen him at the cemetery. Always polite when I stop to change the flowers...."
Tori picks up Chloe and hands her to Ob. "Here. Hold my niece." She holds a hand out to Grace. "I don't need to guess why you asked. Wanna meet him? He's a friend, the obnoxious goof of the group."
Grace shakes her head at Tori. "Young lady, that is not nice! So what if he is a little rough around the edges. You, yourself, are not a polished debutante, my dear."
The grin that sneaks across Tori's face is full of mischief. "Me? I am all innocence and light."
Someone mutters a muffled "Bullshit...", which only makes Tori grin harder. Grace rises with Tori's help and allows her to escort her across the room. Jack watches them approach and stands as they stop at his table.
"Jack."
"Tori."
Grace rolls her eyes. "One would think you two dislike each other. Jack, My name is Grace. I don't know if you remember me. I see you at the cemetery every Saturday afternoon."
He grins at her and nods. "I remember you. Fresh flowers on Old Mitch's grave."
Grace smiles. "Old Mitch. I am sure he would have liked that. I used to call him the Old Grouch. He was a crotchety man, but knew just how to make me smile. he also saw the people of Exton as more than what they seem. I wish he could have met you all."
She looks up at the punky redhead. "I don't think he will bite me Tori, and I really would like to talk with Jack. Alone, please."
Tori smiles at Grace, then frowns at Jack. "Don't wear her out Jack, or you will have a very unhappy Viper, and Brownie, on your back."
He laughs. Tori kisses Grace's cheek and, with a cocky grin at Jack, heads back to the group near the bar.
